Bristow teams with Electra, Norwegian aviation partners for hybrid-electric flight demonstrations in 2027
VTOL•Bristow Group will work with Electra, Avinor and Norway’s Civil Aviation Authority on demonstrations at five sites, with the first flight planned for the third quarter of 2027.
1. Demonstrations planned
Bristow Group will collaborate with Electra, Avinor and Norway’s Civil Aviation Authority on hybrid-electric aircraft demonstration flights at five sites in Norway. The first flight is planned for the third quarter of 2027.
2. Testing capabilities
Electra’s EL2 demonstrator can take off and land in approximately 50 meters, allowing tests at airports and sites without established runways. Results will inform infrastructure, operational and regulatory requirements for introducing electric and hybrid-electric aircraft.
