Expand Energy names Daniel Brown as CEO
EXE•Expand Energy said Daniel Brown will become president and CEO on October 26, succeeding Michael Wichterich, who will return to his role as non-executive chairman.

Expand Energy said Daniel Brown will become president and chief executive officer on October 26, taking over from Michael Wichterich. Wichterich, who had served as CEO since February, will return to his role as non-executive chairman of the board.
2. Brown’s background
Brown joins Expand Energy from Chord Energy, where he was CEO. Expand, formerly known as Chesapeake Energy, became the largest independent U.S. natural gas producer following its $7.4 billion acquisition of Southwestern Energy in October 2024.
