Bruker Lands $500M Superconductor Orders and Fully Acquires TOFWERK Adding $40M Revenue

Bruker secured approximately $500 million in multi-year supply contracts from two global healthcare companies for its latest superconductors used in next-generation MRI magnets. The company also acquired the remaining 60% of TOFWERK AG to fully consolidate its ultra-fast TOF mass spectrometry portfolio, boosting segment revenues by about $40 million.

1. Bruker Secures $500 Million in Multi-Year Superconductor Supply Agreements

Bruker’s Energy & Supercon Technologies division has signed two separate multi-year contracts with leading global radiology firms for its latest high-performance superconductors used in next-generation MRI magnets. Combined, these agreements represent approximately $500 million in anticipated future revenues for the division. One contract spans five years and includes performance-based price escalators tied to volume commitments, while the other covers a three-year term with an initial tranche of $150 million to be delivered in calendar 2024. These orders not only reinforce Bruker’s leadership in superconducting materials but also underpin a robust backlog that will support the company’s top-line growth trajectory through FY27.

2. Attractive Valuation and Earnings Inflection Expected in FY26

Analysts highlight that Bruker is entering fiscal 2026 with over $1 billion in backlog across its life-science, diagnostics and industrial segments, setting the stage for double-digit EPS growth beyond FY26. Key drivers include a rebound in academic and government spending, renewed biopharma capital investments and a surge in high-margin semiconductor orders. Management forecasts margin expansion of 150 basis points next year through ongoing cost-reduction initiatives, optimized pricing and a favorable product mix. Despite these catalysts, the stock trades at a notable discount to both its five-year average valuation and peers in the analytical instruments sector, presenting a potential opportunity for medium-term investors.

3. Acquisition of TOFWERK Consolidates Mass Spectrometry Leadership

Bruker completed the purchase of the remaining 60 percent stake in Switzerland-based TOFWERK AG, bringing its ownership to 100 percent and integrating ultra-fast time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF-MS) technology for small-molecule applied markets. TOFWERK, which generated approximately $40 million in revenues in 2025 with a global installed base of over 1,000 instruments and a workforce of 130 employees, will continue operating under its established brand. The acquisition expands Bruker’s footprint in atmospheric chemistry, air quality monitoring, exposomics, food and fragrance testing, and semiconductor cleanroom monitoring, positioning the company to cross-sell TOFWERK’s ruggedized, high-throughput solutions into its existing sales channels.
