Camtek has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Visual Layer, an AI company based in Tel Aviv that specializes in visual analytics. The transaction, structured under customary closing conditions, is slated to finalize within the next few weeks, though financial terms remain undisclosed.

The addition of Visual Layer’s proprietary AI platform and team of PhD researchers is designed to deepen Camtek’s inspection and metrology product capabilities. Management expects enhanced product throughput in the near term and the development of AI-driven software offerings to establish a recurring revenue stream over time.

Camtek’s leadership has collaborated with Visual Layer for over a year at the R&D level, validating technology alignment and execution capabilities. The combined resources aim to position Camtek as a leader in AI-driven semiconductor inspection, with both immediate performance gains and long-term growth opportunities.
