Canada Goose Q2 revenue misses estimates on soft store sales
GOOS•Canada Goose's fiscal second-quarter revenue rose 5.9% to C$274 million, below analysts' C$278.93 million estimate, while direct-to-consumer comparable sales fell 7.5%. The company expects fiscal 2027 revenue growth in the low single digits and an adjusted EBIT margin of 11% to 12%, and renewed its buyback program for up to 10% of its public float.
1. Revenue and sales
Canada Goose reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of C$274 million, up 5.9% but below the C$278.93 million analyst consensus. Direct-to-consumer comparable sales fell 7.5%, as weaker store sales, especially in EMEA, were partly offset by e-commerce growth in North America and Asia Pacific.
2. Margins and outlook
Adjusted EBIT margin declined as marketing and store expansion costs rose. Gross margin increased to 66.8% from 64.0%, supported by product mix, production efficiencies, and lower freight and duty costs. Wholesale revenue rose 4.6% on higher order book shipments and travel retail demand.
3. Fiscal 2027 plans
The company expects fiscal 2027 revenue to grow by a low-single-digit percentage and forecasts an adjusted EBIT margin of 11% to 12%. It anticipates lower consumer demand and softer traffic in key markets, and renewed its share buyback program for up to 10% of its public float.
