1. Trade agreement outlook
U.S. President Donald Trump said he believes a trade agreement with Canada can be struck in the coming weeks, shortly before new import bans on select Canadian goods take effect.
2. Slate Grocery REIT sale
Canada’s Slate Grocery REIT announced its sale to Brixmor Property Group and Everview Partners for US$13 in cash per unit, representing an equity value close to US$800 million.
3. LNG Canada expansion
Partners in Shell’s LNG Canada project on the B.C. coast are expected to announce Tuesday that they have agreed to proceed with an expansion costing more than $30 billion. Plans call for doubling capacity to as much as 30 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas a year.
