Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield slips
EWU•The Canadian dollar fell 0.1% to C$1.4243 per U.S. dollar, while Canada’s 10-year government bond yield slipped 0.8 basis points to 3.991%.
1. Currency and bond moves
The Canadian dollar weakened against the U.S. dollar on Thursday, trading at C$1.4243, or 70.21 U.S. cents, after ranging from C$1.4223 to C$1.4258. Canada’s 10-year government bond yield fell 0.8 basis points to 3.991%, while the yield on comparable U.S. government debt rose to 5.3062%. U.S. November crude futures rose 94 cents to $91.36 a barrel.
