Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield slips
TLT•The Canadian dollar fell 0.1% to C$1.4182 per U.S. dollar, while the 10-year Canadian government bond yield slipped 0.9 basis points to 3.958%.
1. Currency and bond yields
The Canadian dollar weakened against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday, trading at C$1.4182, or 70.51 U.S. cents, after ranging from C$1.4166 to C$1.4201. The Canadian 10-year government bond yield fell 0.9 basis points to 3.958%, while the comparable U.S. yield fell to 5.2299%.
2. Crude prices fall
U.S. November crude futures fell $1.87 to $90.73 a barrel on Tuesday.
