CARFAX Canada says used car prices stabilize as inventory rises in H1 2026

S&P Global’s CARFAX Canada mid-year market analysis showed Canada’s used-vehicle prices leveling off in the first half of 2026 as inventory climbed.
- June average listing prices rose 0.2% month-on-month to USD 31,487, down 4.7% year-on-year, with the past five months holding near USD 31,000 to USD 31,500.
- Used-vehicle inventory increased 15.5% from May, up 2.5% year-on-year, improving selection heading into the summer selling season.
- June transactions totaled 277,361, up 1.3% on the month, down 2.9% on the year, while first-half volume fell 4.2% to about 1.49 million units.
- Used EV prices turned higher, with June average listing prices rising to USD 42,834.
