- South Dakota's corn yield prospects are lower than last year and the three-year average, scouts on an annual tour of top U.S. producing states found on Monday, following a hot and dry summer.
- Scouts on the Pro Farmer tour's western half projected corn yields in South Dakota at 149.09 bushels per acre, well below the 2025 crop tour average of 174.18 bpa and the tour's three-year average of 162.70 bpa.
- On the tour's eastern leg, scouts projected Ohio's corn yield at 180.18 bpa, down from 185.69 last year and the three-year average of 184.31 bpa.
- Ohio crops were struggling with excessive moisture, tour scouts said.
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture lowered its condition ratings for the nation's corn crops in a weekly report on Monday, in line with trade expectations.
- The agency rated 60% of the corn crop in good-to-excellent condition as of Sunday, down 1 percentage point from a week earlier and the lowest for the 33rd week of the calendar year since 2023.
- The most-active contract Cv1 fell 1-1/2 cents to $4.88 a bushel.
