Centene Subsidiary Selects 3 of 15 Texas Providers for MHR/TCM Excellence

CNCCNC

Superior HealthPlan, a Centene company serving 1.5 million Texans, has named three Texas providers as its inaugural Mental Health Rehabilitation and Targeted Case Management Centers of Excellence after reviewing 15 applicants. The designations enable streamlined Medicaid-covered behavioral health services for children and youth across 11 metro areas including Houston and Dallas–Fort Worth.

1. Program Launch and Selection Process

Superior HealthPlan launched its MHR/TCM Centers of Excellence program after a structured review of 15 Non-LMHA providers, assessing clinical quality, compliance and coordinated care delivery. Three multi-specialty groups were designated following criteria including trauma-informed care capabilities and sustained alignment with state requirements and health plan expectations.

2. Designated Providers and Service Coverage

Arrow Child & Family Ministries, CK Family Services and Pathways Youth and Family Services received the inaugural designations, offering skills training, crisis support, medication management and targeted case management. These providers collectively serve children and youth in 11 Texas metro areas, with both in-person and telehealth options for Medicaid-covered enrollees.

3. Network Impact and Strategic Implications

The new designations strengthen Centene’s behavioral health network by enhancing access and coordination for vulnerable pediatric populations in Texas. By recognizing centers of excellence, the program supports Superior’s strategy to improve system integrity, optimize care delivery and potentially manage utilization for its 1.5 million members.
