1. Systems for Gimlet’s cloud
Cerebras plans to supply AI chips and hardware with capacity to consume roughly 100 megawatts to Gimlet Labs, a cloud computing startup. Gimlet plans to use the systems to run frontier AI models and target companies and startups building products around AI.
2. Delivery and deployment
Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman said the company plans to supply its CS-4 systems over one to two years. Gimlet said it plans to make the hardware available in its cloud in 2027 and will maintain and operate the systems after delivery. The companies declined to disclose financial terms.
3. Demand for inference
The deal comes as AI companies show rising interest in hardware for inference, the process of generating responses to user prompts. Gimlet CEO Zain Asgar said faster inference can help with cybersecurity, voice applications and financial analysis.
