Charter Communications is expanding its fiber internet network in Harrison County to serve more than 6,700 homes and businesses and in Orange County to cover over 4,000 additional residences and offices. The projects are part of a $7 billion push to add 100,000 miles of fiber and reach 1.7 million new locations.

1. Expansion in Harrison and Orange Counties

On February 13, Charter Communications launched a fiber expansion in rural Harrison County targeting more than 6,700 homes and businesses, while simultaneously rolling out services to over 4,000 homes and offices in Orange County’s Orange and Vidor areas. These regional projects aim to deliver symmetric multi-gigabit speeds and bolster broadband access in under-served communities.

2. National Fiber Strategy and Investment

These local buildouts form part of Charter’s broader multi-year strategy to deploy over 100,000 miles of fiber across the United States. The company has earmarked more than $7 billion of its own capital to reach 1.7 million new locations without relying on government funding, underscoring its commitment to sustained network growth and long-term customer acquisition.
