Chesapeake Utilities partners with NextEra Energy Resources on Florida Energy Pathway gas project, selling 49% stake

Peninsula Pipeline Company was engaged to construct, manage, and operate the project.

The project targets a 24-inch intrastate pipeline from Palm Beach County to Miami-Dade County, with total investment estimated at $1.2 billion. Construction is expected to start in the first half of 2028, with in-service targeted for 2030, subject to final commissioning.

Chesapeake Utilities sold a 49% stake in the Florida Energy Pathway natural gas transmission project to NextEra Energy Resources.

Peninsula Pipeline Holdings will retain 51% ownership; the partners formed a joint venture for development.
