Citizens Financial expands private wealth business with new Newport Beach team
CFG•Citizens Financial Group added Newport Beach-based Webber Wealth Partners to its Southern California wealth business. Led by Matt Webber and Chris Illiano, the team previously served clients with more than $1.2 billion in assets; Citizens' 13 recruited teams since 2024 previously oversaw about $13.2 billion.
1. Newport Beach addition
Citizens Financial Group expanded its Southern California wealth business on October 28, 2026, adding Webber Wealth Partners, a Newport Beach-based team led by Matt Webber and Chris Illiano. The team previously served clients holding more than $1.2 billion in assets and works with wealthy individuals, families and business owners, with access to private wealth, private banking and commercial banking capabilities.
2. Recruitment growth
The addition brings Citizens' nationwide recruitment since 2024 to 13 teams that previously oversaw approximately $13.2 billion in client assets.
