Clearway signs PacifiCorp contracts for additional 210 MW Utah battery storage capacity
CWEN•Clearway Energy Group signed long-term battery storage contracts with PacifiCorp for an additional 210 MW in southern Utah. The project has about $400 million in financing, and construction has started on three facilities.
1. Utah storage expansion
The contracts advance the second phase of the Honeycomb Energy Center and will bring Clearway’s Utah storage fleet to seven systems totaling 2,120 MWh. Construction has started on three facilities in Beaver and Iron counties, each adjacent to an operating Clearway solar site.
2. Project financing
Financing totals about $400 million through a bank consortium led by KeyBank, with U.S. Bank, NordLB and CoBank participating.
