Google has been designated as a strategic market status company in the UK, empowering the Competition and Markets Authority to demand information and require changes. The CMA’s order instructs Google to provide tools that allow publishers to block or manage generative AI search summaries, deliver usage metrics, and clearly attribute publisher content, all within nine months.
2. Broadcom’s AI Chip Forecast Benefits Hyperscalers
Broadcom projected third-quarter revenue above $28.54 billion, driven by a surge in custom AI chip sales that it expects to grow over 200% year-over-year to $16 billion. As a major supplier to hyperscalers such as Google, these chips support machine learning workloads and cost optimization for large cloud operators.
