2. Full-Year Performance
Full-year net income reached a record $1.278 billion ($4.69/share), up from $959 million ($3.52/share), while core income rose to $1.342 billion. P&C core income improved to $1.664 billion, driven by better accident-year underwriting and higher net investment income, with 5% net written premium growth and a 94.7% combined ratio.

Book value per share rose 10% to $46.99 excluding AOCI, with total book value at $42.93 per share. The quarterly dividend was increased 4% to $0.48 per share and a special dividend of $2.00 per share was declared.
