Coca-Cola lifts profit forecast as global soda demand holds firm
KO•Coca-Cola raised its 2026 comparable currency-neutral earnings-per-share growth forecast to at least 9%, from 7% to 8%. Third-quarter revenue rose 7.4% to $13.38 billion, and adjusted earnings were 91 cents per share, both above analysts’ estimates.
1. Forecast raised
Coca-Cola raised its annual profit forecast, citing resilient demand for zero-sugar sodas and pricier beverages such as fairlife milk as it faces higher input costs, particularly in North America. It now expects comparable currency-neutral earnings per share to grow at least 9% in 2026, up from its previous forecast of 7% to 8%.
2. Quarterly results
Third-quarter revenue rose 7.4% to $13.38 billion, above analysts’ estimate of $12.92 billion. Adjusted earnings of 91 cents per share also topped the 88-cent estimate. Global unit case volumes rose about 5% in the three months ended Oct. 2, while North American volumes were flat.
3. Costs and demand
Growth in India, China, Mexico and Brazil helped lift global volumes. Coca-Cola is grappling with higher packaging costs as commodity prices rise; the company said in July that aluminum and PET costs had increased more than expected this year.
