Pfizer’s Elrexfio outperforms standard regimens in Phase 3 multiple myeloma study

1. Trial results
Pfizer said Elrexfio met the primary endpoint in the Phase 3 MagnetisMM-32 study and showed a statistically significant benefit over standard regimens for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. More than 75% of Elrexfio patients remained progression-free, and estimated progression-free survival at 18 months was 68%; median progression-free survival was not yet reached.
2. Safety and next steps
Grade 3 or higher infections occurred in 27.5% of Elrexfio patients, versus 18.1% of patients receiving investigator’s choice; grade 5 infections occurred in 0.8% and 1.6%, respectively. Pfizer said the safety profile was consistent with Elrexfio’s known profile and that it plans global health authority submissions and future publication of the results.
