Coherent launched a germanium-free electro-optic modulator capable of sub-microsecond pulse generation with sub-200ns rise/fall times and handling up to 300W for laser via drilling applications. The EOM eliminates germanium dependencies, offers straight-through alignment and a 1,000W prototype version is slated for testing.
