Coinbase Ventures Backs Trace Finance, Unveils Free AI Advisor and Tokenized Equities
COIN•Coinbase Ventures participated in Trace Finance’s $32M Series A funding led by CoinFund, supporting its expansion into regulated banking and stablecoin settlement across key markets. Coinbase also launched a free AI-powered investment advisor and began offering tokenized equities internationally, potentially broadening its addressable market.
1. Coinbase Ventures Joins $32M Trace Finance Series A
Trace Finance raised $32 million in Series A funding led by CoinFund with Coinbase Ventures among investors, to expand regulated banking, FX and stablecoin settlement infrastructure across Brazil, the US, LatAm and APAC. The firm has processed over $10 billion in institutional cross-border volume as the main provider for top payment operators in Latin America.
2. Launch of Free AI Investment Advisor
Coinbase introduced a free AI-powered investment advisor offering personalized portfolio recommendations, market insights and automated alerts. This tool is part of Coinbase’s strategy to evolve into a financial super app by combining trading, payments and AI-driven wealth management services.
3. Expansion into Tokenized Equities
Coinbase rolled out tokenized equities for customers outside the US, delivering fully on-chain stocks with 1:1 exposure and dividend rights. The initiative aims to integrate traditional equity markets into the crypto ecosystem, potentially attracting new institutional and retail investors.
