Hernando, Managing Director of Hotels Spain since 2018, has led the Iberian market’s largest hotel deals and restructuring projects over two decades.

Colliers has appointed Laura Hernando as Chief Executive Officer of its Iberia region, with her tenure beginning in the second quarter of 2026. She succeeds Mikel Echavarren, who will transition to a strategic Chairman role for Iberia while remaining on the EMEA Senior Leadership Team.

2. Professional Background

Hernando brings more than 20 years of Iberian commercial real estate expertise, having led significant hotel transactions, corporate deals and financial restructurings. She has served as Managing Director of Hotels for Colliers Spain since the firm acquired IREA in 2018.

Echavarren will maintain a key strategic position as Chairman for the Iberian region, ensuring continuity in client service and regional strategy. His continued presence on the EMEA leadership team aims to support seamless growth and operational stability.
