1. Pipeline rehabilitation
Colombia designated rehabilitation of the Antonio Ricaurte gas pipeline a strategic national project on Nov. 4, 2026. Ecopetrol seeks to restore the pipeline, idle for more than 10 years, to import Venezuelan gas. It can transport up to 450 million cubic feet daily, nearly half of Colombia’s consumption; initial imports are planned at 50 million cubic feet daily, approximately 5% of national consumption. Operations depend on infrastructure rehabilitation and a license from the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.
