Comcast agreed to a $117.5 million class-action settlement over its October 2023 breach that exposed millions of Xfinity customer records, including usernames, passwords, contact information, dates of birth and last four Social Security digits. The company has denied wrongdoing but will proceed with the payment plan.
2. Claimant Options and Timeline
Eligible U.S. customers can file claims by August 14 for documented out-of-pocket expenses or lost time, receiving up to $10,000 per claimant, or opt for a simplified $50 alternative payout. A final approval hearing is set for July 7, after which payments will be issued.

At the MoffettNathanson conference, Comcast outlined a strategic pivot of its Connectivity and Platforms unit, emphasizing new Wi-Fi and mobile convergence bundles, simplified pricing structures and targeted network upgrades aimed at accelerating subscriber growth and enhancing service reliability.
