Comcast Unveils RealTime4K with 30-Second Latency Cut for Super Bowl LX Coverage

Comcast’s Xfinity introduced RealTime4K streaming for Super Bowl LX, delivering up to 30-second lower latency than rival 4K providers and supporting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on a dedicated Peacock 4K channel. The service uses network upgrades to eliminate compression delays and integrates Olympics coverage for seamless viewing.

1. Q4 Earnings Performance

Comcast reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.84 for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.73. GAAP net income attributable to Comcast declined to $2.168 billion, or $0.60 per share, compared with $4.778 billion, or $1.24 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted net income fell 17.1% year-over-year to $3.062 billion. While total revenue of $32.31 billion edged up 1.2% from Q4 2024, it narrowly missed the $32.35 billion analyst forecast.

2. Revenue and Segment Results

Consolidated revenue growth of 1.2% was driven by a 5.5% increase in NBCUniversal media sales to $7.62 billion, supported by higher advertising revenue on NBA broadcasts and the debut of new film releases. Connectivity & Platforms revenue dipped 1.1% to $20.24 billion as domestic broadband revenue fell 1.1% to $6.32 billion, reflecting a net loss of 181,000 residential broadband customers. Domestic wireless revenue rose 18% to $1.40 billion on 364,000 net line additions, bringing total wireless lines to 9.305 million, the highest annual net gain in the division’s history.

3. Cash Flow and Capital Returns

Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter increased 10.3% year-over-year to $7.90 billion. Free cash flow jumped 34% to $4.37 billion, benefiting from strong operating cash flow of $8.84 billion. In Q4 Comcast returned $2.7 billion to shareholders, comprising $1.2 billion in dividend payments and $1.5 billion in share repurchases. The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.33 per share, maintaining the full-year 2026 annualized dividend at $1.32 per share.

4. Strategic Business Highlights

Comcast highlighted its best performance in wireless with 1.5 million net line additions during 2025 and over 9 million total lines, reflecting its converged broadband-mobile strategy. Peacock reached 44 million paid subscribers, up 22% year-over-year, and generated $1.6 billion in Q4 revenue, a 23% increase. Universal Destinations & Experiences achieved record Q4 adjusted EBITDA of more than $1.0 billion, up 24%, propelled by the May opening of Epic Universe. The company completed the tax-free spin-off of Versant Media Group, focusing NBCUniversal on streaming, live sports and premium content.
