Commerce Rolls Out PayPal-Integrated BigCommerce Payments Solution to U.S. Merchants
Commerce has launched BigCommerce Payments by PayPal, an embedded solution now available to U.S. Retail plan merchants that consolidates payment processing, balances and payouts into a single dashboard. The platform supports PayPal, Venmo, Pay Later, card, Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions and aims to reduce operational complexity while preserving direct PayPal relationships.
1. Partnership Launch
Commerce and PayPal have expanded a long-standing collaboration by embedding PayPal’s payment infrastructure directly into the BigCommerce platform. U.S. merchants on Retail plans can now activate BigCommerce Payments by PayPal, enabling a unified payments experience without leaving the BigCommerce control panel.
2. Integrated Dashboard Features
The new solution introduces a dedicated “Money” dashboard where merchants can track balances, manage payouts in real time and handle bank connections. It supports multiple payment methods—PayPal, Venmo, Pay Later, major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay—allowing merchants to meet diverse customer preferences from a single interface.
3. Operational Efficiency and Control
By reducing the need to switch between separate systems, merchants can streamline financial workflows and scale operations more seamlessly. The integration maintains a direct relationship with PayPal, ensuring merchants benefit from PayPal’s global payments network while leveraging BigCommerce’s open commerce architecture.
4. Merchant Adoption and Expansion Plans
Early adopters report rapid setup times and improved checkout flexibility, with businesses like RJ Nautical and Indigo Fragrance citing faster onboarding and expanded payment options. The solution is available now to U.S. Retail plan merchants, with plans for international expansion in future phases.
