Community Health Systems to Sell Four Arkansas Hospitals for $112 Million

Community Health Systems will sell four Northwest Arkansas hospitals with 128, 222, 64 and 73 beds for $112 million, plus associated outpatient centers and practices. The transaction, subject to closing net working capital and finance lease adjustments, is expected to close in Q2 2026.

1. Asset Sale Agreement

Community Health Systems’ subsidiary has signed a definitive agreement to sell substantially all assets of Northwest Health in Northwest Arkansas to Freeman Health System for $112 million.

2. Hospitals and Associated Operations

The transaction includes Northwest Medical Center–Bentonville (128 beds), Northwest Medical Center–Springdale (222 beds), Northwest Medical Center–Willow Creek Women’s Hospital (64 beds) and Siloam Springs Regional Hospital (73 beds), along with related outpatient centers and physician practices.

3. Financial Terms and Timing

The sale price is subject to adjustments based on closing net working capital and finance leases assumed by the buyer, with the deal expected to finalize in the second quarter of 2026.
