Compass Gold Intersects 18 m at 4.99 g/t Au Including 3.8 m at 21.94 g/t
Compass Gold’s Phase 1 drilling at the Massala prospect is 93% complete, covering a 340 m mineralized panel along the Tarabala fault on the Sikasso property in Mali. Highlights include an 18 m interval grading 4.99 g/t Au with a 3.8 m subinterval at 21.94 g/t and visible gold exceeding 100 g/t.
1. Drilling Program Progress
Phase 1 of the 42-hole, 1,400 m diamond drill program at Massala is 93% complete with 39 holes (1,329 m) finished to test down-dip extensions and strike potential along a 340 m mineralized segment of the Tarabala fault.
2. Key Assay Results
Drilling intercepted wide zones of mineralization, including 18 m at 4.99 g/t Au with a 3.8 m subinterval at 21.94 g/t and a separate 9.01 m interval at 1.92 g/t. Visible gold exceeding 100 g/t was observed in quartz veins, confirming high-grade nuggety gold.
3. Next Steps and Outlook
The program continues along strike to define an initial resource along the Taraba Trend, with remaining assay values pending overlimit reanalysis. Compass Gold plans to incorporate closely spaced holes to bolster confidence in resource estimation and extend drilling to open down-dip sections.
