Compass Gold’s Massala Sample MA-5 Delivers 95.3% Leach Recovery, Phase 1 Drilling Complete
COMP•Compass Gold’s Massala sample MA-5 yielded 61% gravity gold recovery and 95.3% bottle roll leaching recovery, confirming low-cost processing prospects. The company completed Phase 1 drilling—42 holes totalling 1,457.3 m—and dispatched 1,024 core samples for assaying as it advances toward small-scale production.
1. Metallurgical Test Results
Initial tests on Massala bulk samples MA-1 and MA-5 returned head grades of 0.65 g/t and 2.24 g/t respectively, with Extended Gravity Recoverable Gold of 51.1% and 61.0%; sample MA-5 achieved 95.3% total gold recovery via bottle roll leaching in under 48 hours, indicating low cyanide consumption and minimal deleterious elements.
2. Phase 1 Drilling Completion
By May 22, Compass completed 42 resource definition diamond drill holes totalling 1,457.3 m over a 340 m strike at the Massala prospect, dispatching 1,024 core samples to laboratories in Bamako and Burkina Faso; assays for the remaining 14 holes will follow after logging concludes.

Colin Galinski has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Affairs to strengthen corporate governance, regulatory engagement and strategic communications as Compass advances its Massala Small Mine strategy towards permit approvals and near-term commercial production.
