Constellation signs 20-year power supply deal with Amazon for Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant
CEG•Constellation Energy signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Amazon tied to Maryland’s Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant. The deal covers 690 megawatts, including a 190-megawatt uprate expected online between 2030 and 2032, and supports more than $3 billion in infrastructure investment.
1. Power purchase agreement
Constellation Energy signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Amazon tied to the Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant in Maryland. The agreement covers 690 megawatts of power, including a 190-megawatt uprate expected online between 2030 and 2032.
2. Plant investment and relicensing
The agreement supports more than $3 billion of infrastructure investment, including upgrades across the 1,790-megawatt facility. Amazon’s commitment aims to provide revenue certainty for a 20-year relicensing effort at Calvert Cliffs.
