Corebridge Q2 FY26 net loss narrows to $16 million; adjusted pre-tax operating income drops 21% to $664 million

Corebridge posted a net loss available to common shareholders of $16 million, narrowing from a $660 million loss a year earlier.
Adjusted pre-tax operating income fell 21% from a year earlier to $664 million; adjusted after-tax operating income declined to $512 million from $672 million.
Operating earnings per share slipped to $1.12 from $1.22, while core sources of income rose 5% to $1.57 billion.
Premiums, deposits and capital return
Premiums and deposits dropped 13% to $9.07 billion, reflecting lower fixed and fixed indexed annuity sales, partly offset by higher GIC issuances.
The Equitable merger cleared a key hurdle with shareholder approval; Corebridge returned $412 million via repurchases and dividends, declaring a $0.25 quarterly dividend.
