CoreLogic: US single-family rents rise 1.5% y/y in June 2026

CoreLogic data showed U.S. single-family rents rose 1.5% year over year in June 2026, down from 2.5% a year earlier.
Annual growth strengthened for a fourth straight month, reaching the highest rate since late 2025 as seasonal momentum returned.
Higher-end rents increased 2.4%; lower-end rents rose 0.4%, underscoring a widening performance gap across price tiers.
Regional trends show Midwest strength and West Coast cooling
Midwest markets led gains; Chicago posted 5% growth, while Houston fell 0.2% for a fifth consecutive month.
Los Angeles rent growth slowed to 0.6% from 4.7%, extending the metro’s deceleration trend for a fourth month.
