Crusoe develops Google data center campus in Texas’ Armstrong County
Crusoe is developing Google’s AI-focused data center campus outside Amarillo, where construction is underway with more than 5,500 workers on-site daily. The campus will connect to Serena’s 265.5-megawatt Goodnight 1 wind farm and use closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling.
1. Construction and power
Crusoe’s Google campus in Armstrong County, Texas, broke ground in June 2025, and construction is underway with more than 5,500 workers on-site daily. It will connect directly to Serena’s 265.5-megawatt Goodnight 1 wind farm; Goodnight 2, also rated at 265.5 megawatts, is under construction. Surplus wind power will be exported to the grid when generation exceeds campus demand.
2. Cooling system
The facility will use closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling, limiting water use mainly to domestic needs.
