Daktronics to Refresh 8,300 Sq Ft of LED Displays at Wrigley Field

DAKTDAKT

Daktronics will upgrade eight LED displays totaling 8,300 square feet at Wrigley Field with its Renew line, adding 1.4 million LEDs and boosting resolution from 13HD to 10mm pixel pitch. The retrofit reuses structures, adds five million pixels and cuts over five pounds of aluminum per square foot, enhancing sustainability.

1. LED Display Refresh at Wrigley Field

Daktronics will install eight new LED displays across left and right field, two ribbon boards, two upper deck displays and two outfield wall units, covering 8,300 square feet. The project uses the Renew product line to modernize the ballpark’s video presentation for the 2026 season.

2. Technical and Resolution Enhancements

The displays upgrade from a 13HD pixel layout to a 10mm pixel pitch, tripling pixel density to add 5 million additional pixels. This improved resolution delivers sharper visuals and wider viewing angles for in-game content, replays and live statistics.

3. Sustainability and Structural Benefits

By reusing the existing support structures, the retrofit eliminates the need for new mounts and reduces material waste. The new components shave more than five pounds of aluminum per square foot, lowering the display’s weight and environmental footprint.

4. Strategic Impact for Daktronics

This high-profile installation at a historic Major League Baseball venue reinforces Daktronics’ leadership in sports display systems. The Wrigley Field project serves as a showcase for its Renew line and may drive further stadium upgrades across professional sports facilities.
