Deckorators Acquires MoistureShield Assets to Double WPC Capacity to $200M

UFPIUFPI

Deckorators, UFP Industries' outdoor living division, acquired the remaining MoistureShield decking assets, including an Arkansas manufacturing facility, to enhance wood plastic composite output and integrate CoolDeck® and Surestone® technologies. The purchase positions Deckorators to double WPC capacity to $200M by 2027 and expand product offerings to dealers and contractors.

1. Acquisition of MoistureShield Assets

Deckorators secured the remaining operating assets of MoistureShield decking, including a manufacturing site in Arkansas that specializes in traditional composite decking. This facility adds proprietary CoolDeck® technology to Deckorators’ existing Surestone® process, broadening its material offerings and manufacturing footprint.

2. Capacity Expansion and Technology Integration

The addition of the Arkansas plant provides immediate WPC production capacity and the option for further capital investments to support growth. Management expects to double annual WPC output to $200 million by 2027 through combined use of CoolDeck® and Surestone® innovations.

3. Strategic Implications for Deckorators

By integrating MoistureShield’s assets and technologies, Deckorators aims to accelerate product development and deliver a wider range of decking solutions to dealers and contractors. The move strengthens the division’s market position in outdoor living and lays groundwork for sustained revenue and margin growth.
