Deep Fission Installs Prototype Reactor Canister in Kansas, Advances Proof-of-Concept
FISN•Deep Fission installed its non-nuclear prototype reactor canister, which completed fabrication and hydrostatic testing, at its Parsons, Kansas site as part of its Proof-of-Concept Well program. The milestone advances its Gravity Nuclear Reactor™ development ahead of large-diameter borehole drilling and regulatory permitting with Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
1. Prototype Reactor Canister Delivered
Deep Fission completed delivery of its non-nuclear prototype reactor canister to its Parsons, Kansas site, marking a pivotal step in transitioning from design to on-site infrastructure for its Gravity Nuclear Reactor™ concept.
2. Fabrication and Hydrostatic Testing
The factory-built canister underwent fabrication and passed hydrostatic testing prior to shipment, demonstrating the performance and reliability of Deep Fission’s supply chain and manufacturing processes.
3. Progress in Proof-of-Concept Well Program
This delivery advances the Proof-of-Concept Well program by validating installation workflows in a one-mile-deep borehole using commercial-grade, non-nuclear components under real-world conditions.
4. Regulatory and Commercialization Outlook
Deep Fission is pursuing Kansas Department of Health and Environment permitting for large-diameter borehole drilling, a crucial precursor to full-scale demonstration and commercial deployment of its underground reactor technology.
