Diana Shipping Secures $16,850/Day Charter for Kamsarmax m/v Medusa Through Late 2027
DSX•Diana Shipping’s subsidiary has fixed the 82,194 dwt Kamsarmax m/v Medusa at US$16,850 per day for July 10, 2026 to October 5, 2027, extendable to December 20, 2027. This charter will deliver approximately US$7.5 million of gross revenue over the minimum period.
1. Charter Agreement Details
Through a wholly owned subsidiary, Diana Shipping entered a time charter contract with Aquavita International S.A. for its 82,194 dwt Kamsarmax m/v Medusa, fixing a gross daily rate of US$16,850 from July 10, 2026 to at least October 5, 2027, with an extension option to December 20, 2027.
2. Expected Revenue and Fleet Context
The charter is projected to generate approximately US$7.5 million of gross revenue over the minimum term. Diana Shipping’s fleet currently includes 36 dry bulk vessels totaling 4.1 million dwt and is slated to grow with two methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax newbuild deliveries by mid-2028.
