Disney’s Distribution Share Falls to 10.3% While Fox-Roku Would Reach 9.9%

Walt Disney’s media distribution share slipped to 10.3% in the latest period, down from 10.7% a year earlier, marking a 0.4 percentage-point drop in Nielsen’s Media Distributor Index.
2. Impact of Fox-Roku Combination
Under the proposed acquisition, Fox combined with Roku would capture 9.9% of total TV and streaming viewership, up from 9.2% a year ago, positioning the merged entity in third place behind Disney.
3. Broader Distributor Rankings
YouTube leads with 13.4% share, up one point year-over-year, followed by NBCUniversal/Versant Media at a combined 8.2%. Paramount Skydance slipped to 7.9%, Netflix rose to 7.8%, and Fox Corp. reached 6.9%.
4. Platform and Genre Viewing Trends
Overall streaming rose to 47.6% of total viewing versus 44.3% a year ago, cable networks held 21.6%, and broadcast fell below 20% for the first time at 19.9%. Broadcast drama led drama genres with a 28% share.
