SAM•Dogfish Head and Rolling Stone released a 90-proof American single malt whiskey aged five years and finished in 12 barrel types, including Samuel Adams Utopias barrels, producing only 900 cases. The limited-edition release will roll out across six states and debut at the Stateside Music Festival on July 4.

The five-year-old American single malt is matured in 12 distinct barrel types, including Dogfish Head whiskey and brandy casks as well as Samuel Adams Utopias barrels. Bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV), the expression showcases layered maturation influences.

Tasting notes open with rich caramel sweetness, transition to allspice and fruity sherry on the midpalate, and conclude with a smooth finish accented by subtle citrus peel. The complex profile underscores the interplay of multiple barrel finishes.
4. Distribution and Events
Only 900 cases are available across Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Massachusetts. The whiskey will first be available to festivalgoers at Rolling Stone’s Stateside Music Festival on July 4, alongside a co-branded merchandise capsule.
