Domo Adds User Impersonation, Mobile App Distribution and Advanced Governance Tools
Domo introduced User Impersonation early in H2 and a beta Native App Distribution this summer, enabling admins to deploy standalone mobile apps. The platform also launched Global PDP Policies, column masking with calculated field support, Nav Configs and an expanded Workspaces beta to enhance data governance and user experiences.
1. User Impersonation for Rapid Troubleshooting
Domo’s new User Impersonation capability lets authorized administrators view and interact with the platform as any user to quickly diagnose permissions and data access issues. Scheduled for release early in the second half of the year, this feature cuts reliance on screenshots and back-and-forth communication for faster issue resolution.
2. Native App Distribution Beta
The Native App Distribution feature enables organizations to publish branded, standalone Domo applications in the Apple App Store and Google Play. In beta this summer, it allows targeted deployment of role-specific analytics apps to executives, partners and frontline teams without navigating the full analytics environment.
3. Strengthened Governance with PDP Policies and Column Masking
Global PDP Policies now let admins define a single data access policy and apply it across multiple datasets to ensure consistent governance. Column masking with calculated field support, now generally available, extends policy enforcement to derived fields within complex data models.
4. Navigation Configurations and Workspaces Expansion
Nav Configs, now generally available, allow admins to set consistent navigation experiences for user groups or the entire company to reduce content sprawl. The Workspaces beta has been expanded, offering curated content hubs with organized folders and key assets for teams and initiatives.
