Duke Energy Brings 10-MW Ebbie Solar Online, Surpasses 57-MW Renewable Choice Targets

Duke Energy placed the 10-MW Ebbie Solar project into service in Marion, S.C., as the first installation under its updated Green Source Advantage program, using American-made panels and domestic steel to generate over 23,000 MWh annually under a long-term agreement. Its Renewable Choice program exceeded 2025 enrollment targets by subscribing 57 MW of new capacity from large commercial and industrial customers.

1. Ebbie Solar Project Launch

Duke Energy placed the 10-MW Ebbie Solar facility in Marion, South Carolina, into service on February 3, 2026, marking the first project under its updated Green Source Advantage program. Built with American-made panels and domestic steel, the facility is expected to generate more than 23,000 MWh of clean electricity annually under a long-term agreement with the Schaeffler Group.

2. Renewable Choice Enrollment Surpasses Targets

The Renewable Choice program surpassed its initial 2025 enrollment goals by securing 57 MW of new renewable capacity—42 MW in Duke Energy Carolinas territory and 15 MW in Duke Energy Progress territory. Eligible nonresidential customers can match up to 100% of their annual peak demand, receiving renewable energy certificates and bill credits while Clean Energy Environmental Attribute revenue benefits all retail customers.

3. Supporting Corporate Sustainability Goals

Large commercial and industrial customers are driving strong demand for flexible clean energy access, using Duke Energy’s programs to meet sustainability commitments. Duke Energy is expanding scalable offerings that balance customer choice with system-wide reliability, reinforcing its energy transition strategy to grow renewable generation and deliver value for all stakeholders.
