DuPont has introduced the Liveo C6-8XX medical-grade liquid silicone rubber series, offering significantly reduced viscosity and up to 15% faster injection-molding cycle times. The new compounds meet USP Class VI biocompatibility standards for advanced implantable and diagnostic devices.

1. DuPont Launches Medical-Grade Liquid Silicone Rubber Series

DuPont today unveiled its Liveo C6-8XX series, a new line of medical-grade liquid silicone rubber (LSR) engineered for advanced healthcare applications. The series offers viscosities as low as 350 cP—roughly 25% lower than DuPont’s previous generation—enabling faster mold fill and improved feature fidelity. In internal trials, mold cycle times fell by an average of 15%, translating into a potential throughput increase of up to 20% on high-volume production lines. Liveo C6-8XX meets USP Class VI standards and ISO 10993 biocompatibility requirements, supporting both short- and long-term implants as well as fluid-contacting components. DuPont will initially offer five formulations covering hardness ranges from Shore A 30 to 70, addressing catheter tips, membranes, seals and respiratory device components. The company plans full commercial availability in the second quarter of 2026, backed by dedicated technical support and validation kits for medical device OEMs.
