Eagle Bancorp returns to profit in Q2 FY26; net interest income falls 8% to $62.35 million

Eagle Bancorp returned to profit in Q2 2026, posting net income of $6.92 million versus a net loss of $69.78 million a year earlier.
Provision for credit losses fell to $21.45 million from $138.16 million, while net interest income slipped 8.01% to $62.35 million.
Margins, income and balance sheet
Net interest margin widened 0.15 percentage points to 2.52%, as cost of funds eased to 2.79% from 3.17%.
Noninterest income rose 67.73% to $10.76 million, driven by $2.29 million of gains on loan sales and a $0.27 million securities gain.
Loans held for investment declined to $6.62 billion from $7.28 billion since year-end, while the ACL fell to $121.14 million from $159.6 million.
