Ziyu Shen, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ECARX, described the strategic investment as a significant evolution of the existing technical collaboration, emphasizing Lotus’s strong global recognition and growth potential. Shen highlighted the combined Pikes and Cloudpeak solution as the foundation for a new era of intelligent driving experiences and reiterated his optimism about scaling ECARX’s global expansion through this partnership. On December 23, 2025, ECARX Holdings Inc. entered into a share subscription agreement to invest US$23 million in Lotus Technology through a private placement. The company will acquire 16,788,321 newly issued ordinary shares at US$1.37 per share, subject to customary closing conditions. The transaction is expected to close within 30 days of the agreement date, and the shares will be subject to a six-month lock-up period with standard exceptions. The investment is designed to deepen the global partnership with Lotus Technology by integrating ECARX’s Pikes® computing platform and Cloudpeak® cross-domain software stack—complete with Google Automotive Services—into Lotus vehicles worldwide. This collaboration aims to accelerate ECARX’s footprint in international markets and drive deployment of next-generation intelligent cockpit systems across multiple regions. Founded in 2017 and listed in 2022, ECARX has grown to over 1,500 employees across 13 locations in China, the UK, the USA, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Sweden and Germany. Its full-stack mobility solutions, ranging from system-on-a-chip to central computing platforms, are already deployed in about 10 million vehicles worldwide. Investors should note that this targeted investment not only reinforces ECARX’s technological leadership but also positions the company for accelerated revenue growth as it leverages Lotus Technology’s distribution network to expand its global market penetration.
