EchoStar unit Hughes files Chapter 11 to restructure debt

EchoStar’s other units are excluded; DISH TV, Sling TV and Boost Mobile operations are unaffected.
Hughes files voluntary Chapter 11
EchoStar’s Hughes Satellite Systems, including Hughes Network Systems, filed voluntary Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
The reorganization targets maturing secured and unsecured debt, capital structure repair, and a shift toward B2B, government and defense services.
