Eco Wave Power completes first phase of AI-powered digital twin development
WAVE•Eco Wave Power completed the first phase of an AI-powered digital twin developed with Germany-based AI engineering. The model simulates wave interactions with the company’s floaters and includes initial machine-learning capabilities for energy and load forecasting.
1. Digital twin development
The physics-based model simulates wave interactions with Eco Wave Power’s proprietary floaters and incorporates initial machine-learning capabilities for energy and load forecasting. Researchers also evaluated whether the model could be adapted to different wave conditions, potentially transferring engineering insights across future projects.
2. Planned next phases
Subsequent phases would extend the model to energy conversion, integrate operational data and introduce broader AI-driven optimization. The digital twin could help coastal data centers coordinate electricity consumption with wave-energy availability; discussions with developers are underway.
