
EHang has been selected with Kwoon Chung and Cyberport to pilot demonstration flights under Hong Kong’s Low-Altitude Economy Regulatory Sandbox X, targeting compliant eVTOL operations. Its EH216-S model has logged over 90,000 safe flights and runs routine commercial trials in Guangzhou and Hefei.
EHang, together with Kwoon Chung Smart Mobility and Hong Kong Cyberport, has been chosen as one of the first trial projects under Hong Kong’s Low-Altitude Economy Regulatory Sandbox X initiative. The partnership will conduct compliant demonstration flights and scenario validations for unconventional aircraft within the city’s urban environment.
The EH216-S pilotless human-carrying eVTOL holds China’s first type certificate, production certificate and standard airworthiness certificate for a pilotless human-carrying aircraft and has completed over 90,000 safe flights. It currently operates routine commercial trial services in Guangzhou and Hefei, providing scalable operational insights for future deployments.
Hong Kong’s position as a gateway to the Greater Bay Area offers an ideal testing ground for low-altitude economy innovation. EHang plans to deepen partnerships to explore advanced air mobility applications, support regulatory alignment, and contribute to the regional low-altitude economy ecosystem.
