Eli Lilly inks up to $1bn deal for AlzeCure’s Alzheimer’s candidate ACD680
LLY•Eli Lilly has secured rights to AlzeCure’s preclinical gamma-secretase modulator ACD680 for $10m upfront, $990m in milestones and mid-single-digit royalties, marking its latest Alzheimer’s licensing deal in 2026. ACD680 aims to lower Aβ42 levels while boosting benign amyloid-beta isoforms as a potential disease-modifying therapy.
1. Deal Terms
Eli Lilly will pay $10m upfront for exclusive rights to ACD680, with up to $990m in development and commercial milestones and mid-single-digit royalties on any future sales.
2. Mechanism of ACD680
ACD680 is a preclinical small-molecule gamma-secretase modulator designed to reduce production of Aβ42 while increasing benign Aβ37 and Aβ38, aiming to slow or modify Alzheimer’s progression through amyloid plaque reduction.
3. Lilly’s 2026 Deal Strategy
This licensing agreement extends Lilly’s 2026 dealmaking spree in neuroscience and bolsters its Alzheimer’s pipeline following the 2024 approval of Kisunla, as the company commits to acquiring innovative therapies targeting amyloid-beta.
