Micron Chooses Bechtel for Clay NY Fab Project, 50,000 Jobs
MU•Micron has selected Bechtel for engineering, procurement and construction of its first New York leading-edge memory fab in Clay, expected to become the nation's largest semiconductor manufacturing facility. This phase will create approximately 50,000 jobs, add $16.7B annual real economic output and $5.4B annual personal income for New Yorkers.

Micron has appointed Bechtel as its engineering, procurement and construction partner for the first phase of a next-generation memory manufacturing complex in Clay, NY. Bechtel will mobilize at White Pine Commerce Park immediately, deploying an integrated EPC delivery model with advanced digital-enabled construction and modularization strategies.
2. Economic and Job Impact
The Clay facility represents the largest private investment in New York state history, projected to generate $16.7 billion in annual real economic output and $5.4 billion in yearly personal income over 30 years. The project is expected to create approximately 50,000 jobs, including more than 4,500 construction roles, supporting broad local supply chain and union labor development.
